REQUIREMENTS FOR SWIM INSTRUCTORS
As a swim instructor, you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. Even if you are not an expert swim instructor, that’s ok! We can train anyone on how to teach the way we teach, but here is what we do need from you.

You need to be a “swimmer”. Ideally, you have at least a basic understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water
You've got to love working with children and seeing them progress
You need to be upbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory!
We have flexible schedules and three locations we teach out of. In addition to weekday shifts we also have weekend mornings (Saturday & Sunday) from approximately 9:00am-1pm or 10:30am-2:30pm
Weekday shifts start between 3:00pm- 4:00pm and go to the early/mid evening.
You need to be able to reliably commute to one of our 3 locations in the Linthicum Heights/Hanover area and/or the Greenbelt or Lansdowne/ Halethorpe areas

Job Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Aquatics Director/Franchise Owner

Locations: We have 3 locations in the Linthicum Heights /Hanover and/or Greenbelt and/or Lansdowne/ Halethorpe areas.

Swim Instructors at British Swim School Patapsco Valley teach lessons to children and adults to become safe and happy swimmers, regardless of age or ability. Adherence to British Swim School teaching curriculum ensures that each student in our program learns water survival skills and then progresses to propulsion and stroke development in a fun and gentle environment.

Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School training manual and as directed by the Aquatics Director or Franchise Owner

Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Director/Franchise Owner

Qualifications

Successful completion of British Swim School Swim Instructor internal training

Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
