BRITISH SWIM SCHOOL is dedicated to ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer in the water. Drowning is unfortunately the leading cause of accidental death for children. But since 1981, British Swim School has been on a mission to stop that. We are a nationwide company with over 200 locations teaching more than 20,000 students every week to help save lives!

REQUIREMENTS FOR SWIM INSTRUCTORS

As a swim instructor, you will teach students of all ages in accordance with the British Swim School aquatics program. Even if you are not an aquatics expert, that’s ok! We will train anyone on how to teach the way we teach, but here is what we do need from you:

You need to be a “swimmer”. Ideally, you have an understanding of all four strokes and an overall appreciation for the water.
You've got to love working with children and seeing them progress.
You need to be upbeat and ready to enjoy having fun at work. Having fun is mandatory!
This is a year-round indoor position, and we are looking for longer-term employees. This is not a summer job.
Weekend Shifts available from 9:00am-4pm and
Weekday Shifts available from 3:30pm-8:00pm
You need to be able to reliably commute to one of our pools in Arlington Heights, Naperville, Carol Stream, South Elgin or Oswego.

COMPENSATION AND REWARDS

Pay starts at $15.00 - $18.00/hr

Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
